The Hornady Outfitter with CX bullet is a precise, lead-free rifle cartridge for hunting. It comes in a convenient box of 20. The proven bullet offers reliable expansion within the game animal, with a high probability of an exit wound thanks to its 95% weight retention. Outfitter cartridges feature a sealed case mouth and primer for water resistance, as well as nickel-plated, corrosion-resistant cases. A versatile hunting cartridge suitable for big game (except in .223 Remington) and designed for modern bolt-action rifles.
The CX bullet features specially shaped grooves that promote excellent aerodynamics while simultaneously reducing the contact area in the barrel. The bullet itself is monolithic with a hollow point and ballistic cap. This bullet tip is made of heat-resistant polymer material that is insensitive to aerodynamic heating, thus achieving a consistently high ballistic coefficient and ensuring reliable expansion. Due to its monolithic construction, the bullet retains approximately 95% of its weight, which promotes good penetration and a high probability of an exit wound.
Please note:
Due to its lead-free, monolithic construction, the bullet is relatively hard with deep penetration. It is therefore ideally suited for roe deer and especially tough big game up to 200-250m, depending on the caliber. The cartridge is less suitable for fawns and predators, except in the .223 Remington caliber.
